Lets Solve Pollution and Improper Waste Management
The most common environmental problem in a community is
Pollution and improper waste management that causes major problems in a
community. Some people in a community
especially in the Philippines have a lot of undisciplined people. They like to
throw garbage anywhere that effects improper waste management. People also get
used to burn plastic because of lack in disposal area that causes pollution.
Even Government made a law about it, undisciplined people don’t care about it.
According to Earth Journalism Network, air pollution has
long been a problem for the Philippines. Before the lockdown, the Philippines
ranked 57th out of 98 countries in IQAir's “World most polluted countries,” as
PM2. 5 was recorded at an average of 17.6 micrograms per cubic meter (μg/m3) in
2019. The main effects of Pollution can be long term health effects like lung
cancer and heart disease. As a person in a community, we can join to
Organization in preventing pollution. We can also join Sangguniamg Kabataan and
make a proposal on preventing pollution in a community. We can prevent and
lessen pollution by doing a simple things like not burning plastic in our yard.
As a member of a community, I can deny that the number of
garbage that thrown in improper way is rising as the time flies by. Improper
waste management is one of the most common environmental problem in a
community. One of the solutions in preventing this is being disciplined on
throwing away our own garbage. We can also prevent this by putting a trash bin
in our house. In fact, the Philippines has quite a strong law addressing solid
waste. Republic Act 9003, also known as RA 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste
Management Act of 2000, mandates that all open dumpsites must be converted into
sanitary landfills by 2004, four years after the law was passed, according to
the online news site Eco Business.
As the pollution and improper waste management rises in
community, government do their best to lessen it but undisciplined people was
just doing their community dirty. We must also cooperate and not just expect on
government. We can join to environmental organizations so that we can help to
clean our community. We must protect environment before its to late.
