The Great Battle of Bataan

          The Battle of Bataan  was fought by the United States and the Philippine Commonwealth against Japan during World War II. The battle represented the most intense phase of the Japanese invasion of the Philippines during World War II. In January 1942, forces of the Imperial Japanese Army and Navy invaded Luzon  after the bombing of the American naval base at Pearl Harbor. The Day of Valor, officially known as “Araw ng Kagitingan”, is a national observance in the Philippines which commemorates the fall of Bataan to Japanese troops during World War II. It falls every April 9. We must celebrate this because it shows the  bravery of Filipinos during World War II. They use their brave to protect our country from the enemies. Celebrating the independency of our country is a good move for us. We can show our patriotism by celebrating how the Filipinos defend our country. Lenten Season During Pandemic

          Lenten season is solemn religious event for catholic people like me. Its time to penetrate for your sins. It starts in ash Wednesday and ends with holy Saturday. We Christian people are celebrating it to observe a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, self-denial, and spiritual discipline. The last 2 Lenten season has not same as the traditional celebration because of pandemic                     During Pandemic many ways to celebrate it was invented so that we can feel the solemnity even we cannot go on the church. We can practice paying attention to God's presence in our lives even in our house. We can try communicate and pray with God in our home. Many of our Lenten practices, cannot be allowed during pandemic, but we need to accept it for our own safety. As new technology arrives, we can celebrate Lenten season online, thru broadcasting it. Kannawidan 2022

            In the month of January to Febraury, Ilocos Sur is celebrating a festival called Kannawidan Festival. A festival in the Province of Ilocos Sur commemorating the separation of the two Ilocos provinces in 1818. This festival is a showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best of Ilocano dishes. Many people are going on it because of the shows, competitions and showcase of their products from their own town.           Many shows are seen when Kannawidan Festival begins. In the first day of the festival, fireworks display is shown to the people of Ilocos Sur as an entrance show. Comedy night, motor show, traditional games, and cooking show are some of the events that undergo in Kannawidan Festival. Saniata ti Ilocos Sur is one of the famous event in Kannawidan.
